Just before the holiday season, we welcomed Katarina Svahn to Team Recas.\ud83d\udc4b Katarina is the sunshine of sunshines, a true people person, and as calm as can be. She takes on the role of Timing Workshop Manager, where she will lead discussions and exercises to foster harmony within workgroups.\ud83d\udc86\u200d\u2640\ufe0f With 25 years of experience in project planning and project management in the automotive industry, both in Sweden and abroad, we feel honored to have her on our team.<\/p>\n

Both Katarina and her role are incredibly exciting to talk about, so as she celebrated 3 months with us, she kindly answered a few questions about her work so far.\ud83d\udc47<\/p>\n

Timing Workshop Manager might sound vague to many. What does it actually entail?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 It’s about building bridges between people. In the projects we undertake, there are many specialists involved, and it requires good collaboration and understanding to avoid conflicts, meet deadlines, and ensure a good working environment. That’s where I come in as a mediator, organizing various workshops to guide all parties through the project together. So, in short, my work involves getting participants to shift their focus from detailed tasks to a helicopter view, which is essential for both the team members and the project’s success.<\/p>\n

Do conflicts arise easily?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 It can definitely be conflict-prone; after all, I work with people. But it also shows that there is engagement and that the cross-functional team members have different frames of reference, which is entirely natural. That’s when it’s crucial to bring out the toolbox and get the group aligned.<\/p>\n

What’s the best part of your job?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 Besides being a part of Team Recas, you mean? Jokes aside, it’s seeing people grow through interactions. How seemingly simple ingredients like understanding and communication can make people adjust their perspective and develop both in their role and, most importantly, as individuals. It’s powerful to witness up close.<\/p>\n
